JOHNSON ARTHUR SAKAJA ARRESTED

Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja, has been arrested.

Sakaja was picked by detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, June 17, at an undisclosed place in Nairobi.

Reports indicated that he was then driven to DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road for interrogation. The reason for the arrest was, however, not immediately established but reports indicated it was in relation to the alleged forged certificate.

His lawyers are said to be camping outside the DCI headquarters after being denied entry.

Prior to the arrest, the Nairobi Senator, who is gunning for the city’s gubernatorial post, was engaged in a bitter spat with the DCI boss, George Kinoti, daring him to effect the arrest.

Kinoti had told Nation Africa that Sakaja and administrators at Team University in Uganda were being investigated over the degree certificate.
The DCI boss noted that Sakaja was being investigated over possible links to an international crime syndicate that has been forging
